1. Can I ship personal items in my vehicle?
The Department of Transportation, does not allow any items to be shipped in a vehicle on an auto carrier. Drivers can be subject to random searches, and extra items can also put the carrier over their weight restrictions. We do not recommend putting stuff inside the vehicle. As a courtesy, you may be able to put up to 100 lbs. in trunk. Please make sure it is discreet and not visible from outside. If you exceed the weight limit and fully load the vehicle, the drivers can charge you extra. Some drivers will accept a tip ($50-$250) for hauling extra stuff, but some won’t.
2. What if the truck cannot get to my location?
Most carriers are very long and very wide, which makes it very difficult to enter some residential neighborhoods. Some city laws will not allow these trucks in certain areas. If the truck is unable to make it to your front doorstep, they will get as close as possible to the scheduled pickup location, and then meet you in a location with an adequate amount of space, such as a local grocery store or major street.
3. How long does it take to transport my vehicle?
That depends on how many miles the vehicle is traveling. A driver is only allowed to drive a certain amount of miles or hours each day. They also have other cars to unload and load which will add additional time, but we will be able to provide you with the drop off date as soon as the vehicle is dispatched.
4. How long before my vehicle is picked up?
On average, it takes 1-7 business days for the vehicle to get picked up, depending on locations. An inoperable vehicle, or extremely large vehicle, will most likely take a few additional days.
5. How do you figure out the price to transport my car?
The price is determined by mileage, vehicle size, delivery and pick up locations, as well as any specific needs that you may have. We will provide you the best service at the best price possible.
6. How does payment work?
We do not take any money upon placement of the order. We will keep a credit card on file and only run the deposit amount when the vehicle is dispatched and the truck is on its way to pick up your vehicle. The balance is paid upon delivery of the vehicle either by cash, money order, certified check, or also on the credit card. If the balance is paid with a credit card, we will need to know in advance, and there will be a small surcharge added to your total.
5. Is my shipment insured during transit?
Yes, your vehicle is fully insured at no additional cost to you. Each carrier has liability insurance, as well as cargo insurance. If something happens to your vehicle during transit, we will help you get in contact with the carrier to handle your claim. All damage must be noted on the bill of lading and reported immediately.
6. How can I track my vehicle?
Communication is one of the most important aspects of auto transport. To track your vehicle, you can call us . Your agent will also provide you with his/her cell phone number, as well as the cell phone number of the driver.
