Cross-country car shipping is available to transport your vehicle from one state, city, or coast to another. Regardless of the distance between the pickup and delivery locations within the US, shipping a car across the country is simple and hassle-free. When you choose our services, we’ll assign a carrier to pick up your vehicle, load it onto the appropriate trailer (either enclosed or open, based on your preferences), and deliver it to your desired destination.
Cross-country auto transport is carried out through various methods. When you hire a company for long-distance car shipping, their team will locate the nearest carrier with the appropriate trailer that meets your needs. The carrier will then transport your vehicle from your location to your desired destination within the US. Throughout the journey, you will receive regular updates on the progress of your shipment until the vehicle is delivered.
Shipping a car across the US typically takes anywhere from 1 to 10 days, depending on the distance. For trips under 500 miles, it usually takes 2 to 4 days. For distances between 600 and 900 miles, it may take 3 to 5 days. If the distance is between 1,000 and 1,999 miles, it will take around 4 to 7 days. For trips exceeding 2,000 miles, the transport could take 6 to 10 days.
For example, shipping a vehicle from Montana to Florida (2,480 miles) will take longer than transporting a car from Florida to New York (1,151 miles). However, besides the distance, several other factors can influence the shipping time, including:

We’ll Arrive for Car Pick-up
A few hours before the scheduled car pick-up, the assigned driver will contact you to confirm your pick-up details. They will verify if the location is safe, legal, and accessible for large commercial trailers.
If there are any issues with the location, you can choose an alternative pick-up spot, like a nearby parking lot, a wider street, a friend or family member’s house, or your workplace. Another option is to drop off the car at the nearest terminal of the car shipping company.
Be sure to be present at the time of pick-up, or designate someone of legal age (a friend, family member, or neighbor) to release the vehicle on your behalf. They will inspect the car with the driver, note any pre-existing damage (like dents, scratches, dings, or paint peeling), take photos, and document everything on the Bill of Lading, which both parties will sign. Keep a copy of this document as proof of shipment and for potential damage claims if needed.
As the driver heads to deliver your car, you’ll receive live tracking updates, along with periodic notifications from our company about your car’s shipment. You’ll also have the driver’s phone number for direct communication and immediate updates.
When the driver is close to your location, they’ll call to confirm you’re available for delivery. If you're unable to receive the car, you can assign someone 18 or older, like a friend, relative, neighbor, or colleague, to accept it on your behalf.
Upon delivery, you’ll have the chance to inspect the car to ensure everything is in good condition. After the inspection, you can sign the Bill of Lading to confirm receipt of the vehicle. If there is any remaining balance, you’ll pay the driver in cash. If there’s no outstanding balance, you can simply take the car and drive away.
