Cross country shipping
What is Cross Country Vehicle Shipping?
Cross-country car shipping allows you to move your vehicle from one state, city, or coast to another with ease. No matter the distance between the pickup and delivery locations within the United States, our team makes the process simple, efficient, and hassle-free.
When you choose LISCA Auto Transport, our dispatch team quickly assigns an experienced carrier to your shipment. The driver then picks up your vehicle, carefully loads it onto the appropriate trailer — either enclosed or open, depending on your preference — and safely transports it to your desired destination. Additionally, our team provides updates throughout the shipping process so you can stay informed from pickup to delivery.
How does cross country car transport work?
Cross-country auto transport works through several reliable shipping methods designed to fit different vehicle and customer needs. When you hire a company for long-distance car shipping, the dispatch team searches for the nearest available carrier with the right trailer for your shipment. The assigned driver then picks up your vehicle and transports it safely from your location to your desired destination anywhere within the United States.
Additionally, the shipping company provides regular updates throughout the journey so you can track the progress of your shipment. As a result, customers stay informed and confident until the carrier delivers the vehicle safely to its final destination.
How long does it take to ship cars across country?
Shipping a car across the US typically takes anywhere from 1 to 10 days, depending on the distance. Trips under 500 miles usually take 2 to 4 days, while distances between 600 and 900 miles may take 3 to 5 days. Additionally, shipments between 1,000 and 1,999 miles generally require around 4 to 7 days. For routes exceeding 2,000 miles, transport may take anywhere from 6 to 10 days.
For example, shipping a vehicle from Montana to Florida (2,480 miles) will take longer than transporting a car from Florida to New York (1,151 miles). However, besides the distance, several other factors can influence the shipping time, including:

3 Steps to Shipping a Car Across The Country
Step 1 Ask For a Quote and Make the Booking:
- Pick-up and drop-off zip codes
- Car make and model
- Vehicle dimensions and weight
- First available shipping date (the date your car will be ready for pickup)
- The type of service you need (open or enclosed transport)
Enter this information into our calculator, and you’ll receive an auto transport quote in just a few minutes.
If you need a customized quote, such as for transporting a fleet, a unique vehicle, or any special circumstances not covered by the calculator, feel free to reach out to us. You can contact us through live chat, phone at 747-229-2227, email at info@liscatransport.com. We’ll provide you with a tailored cross-country vehicle transport quote.
The rate you receive includes all taxes, fees, and insurance, ensuring there are no hidden costs. While the final price may vary slightly due to changing road conditions, there won’t be any additional charges beyond what’s already included in your quote.
If you’re not satisfied with the initial quote, reach out to us, and we’ll explore ways to apply discounts and adjust the price. Once you’re happy with the quote, you can proceed with booking the service.
After you confirm, we’ll start working to match your needs with the best carrier from our network of over 15,000 providers. Once a match is found, we’ll provide you with the driver’s details and guide you on how to manage your cross-country car transport.
Please note, we don’t require full payment upfront—only a small booking fee to assign the carrier. If you cancel before the carrier is assigned, you’ll receive a refund. However, if the assignment is made, a small cancellation fee will apply.
Step 2 We’ll Arrive for Car Pick-up
A few hours before the scheduled vehicle pickup, the assigned driver will contact you to confirm the pickup details and ensure the location is safe and accessible for large commercial trailers. If needed, you can choose an alternative location such as a nearby parking lot, wider street, workplace, or a friend or family member’s home. You may also drop the vehicle off at the nearest shipping terminal.
Additionally, you or another adult representative should be present during pickup. The driver will inspect the vehicle, document any pre-existing damage, take photos, and record everything on the Bill of Lading. After both parties sign the document, keep a copy for your records and any potential damage claims.
Step 3 Our Carrier Delivers Your Vehicle
As the driver heads to deliver your car, you’ll receive live tracking updates, along with periodic notifications from our company about your car’s shipment. You’ll also have the driver’s phone number for direct communication and immediate updates.
When the driver is close to your location, they’ll call to confirm you’re available for delivery. If you’re unable to receive the car, you can assign someone 18 or older, like a friend, relative, neighbor, or colleague, to accept it on your behalf.
Upon delivery, you’ll have the chance to inspect the car to ensure everything is in good condition. After the inspection, you can sign the Bill of Lading to confirm receipt of the vehicle. If there is any remaining balance, you’ll pay the driver in cash. If there’s no outstanding balance, you can simply take the car and drive away.
